Not even a passing shower forcing a brief rain delay could dampen the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series racing at Riverhead Raceway Saturday evening where Jeremy McDermott of Riverhead scored a milestone 35th career Late Model victory. Eric Hersey of Commack topped the Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modifieds for his 4th career triumph, it was the first win of 2025 for both veteran drivers.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 21, 2025) – While NASCAR Cup Series Champion Kyle Larson is attempting “The Double” this weekend, traveling between Indianapolis and Charlotte to race for 1,100 miles in one day, his charitable foundation is working on a double of its own – this time with Team Chevy drivers across both NASCAR and INDYCAR. The Kyle Larson Foundation announced today that it will once again partner with Chevrolet and Pristine Auction, and with the generous donation of race shields from 48 Team Chevy drivers from the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and INDYCAR, will raise funds for the Philadelphia-based Urban Youth Racing School. When Danica Patrick took the lead as an Indianapolis 500 rookie 20 years ago, she could see the fans on their feet cheering.

But Patrick didn’t realize why they were cheering.

“I truly thought it was because they were so excited that the race was almost over,” said Patrick, who had taken the lead under caution on Lap 172. “I did not think it was about me.

“I was like, ‘Wow, everybody’s so excited. It’s almost over. It’s exciting.’”
