Thompson, CT — After heat race qualifying events set the night’s feature line-ups, the Thompson Late Models took on the Big-T for the final event in their 2024 track championship season. Ryan Morgan and champion hopeful Brian Tagg lined-up alongside one another to lead the Late Models to green with defending champ Nick Johnson holding a 13 point lead over Tagg following the heats. Morgan would get the jump on the dominant outside groove with Johnson in tow as Tagg fell under attack by Derek Gluchacki and Matt Lowinski-Loh. Gluchacki powered under Morgan to take third and set his sights on Johnson at the head of the pack, dueling lap after lap with three-wide racing behind them. (more…)
Naples, ME & Barre, VT — Back by popular demand, American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials announced today that the Outlaw Open Modified Series will make it’s grand return to Thompson Speedway as part of the Friday night opener to the 62nd Sunoco World Series on October 11th. The $5,000-to-win Dash for Cash will once again feature a $5,000 winner’s share with just a four-tire limit for their 50-lap sprint around the 0.625-mile oval!
With the addition of the Sunoco World Series Dash for Cash on Friday, all three days of the 62n Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing will feature Tour-type Modified competition. With the trip to Victory Lane at Texas Motor Speedway, Sam Mayer pocketed the $100,000 bonus and secured his spot in this weekend’s Dash 4 Cash run at Talladega Superspeedway, and will be joined by RSS Racing’s Ryan Sieg, JR Motorsport’s Justin Allgaier and Kaulig Racing’s AJ Allmendinger to compete in the third installment of Dash 4 Cash.
Of the four drivers vying for the Dash 4 Cash this weekend at Talladega, only one has a previous win at the superspeedway.
Last weekend’s race at Richmond Raceway served as the qualifier for the first round of the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ Dash 4 Cash program, and this weekend’s DUDE Wipes 250 at Martinsville Speedway (Saturday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) will be the first chance for drivers to win the big bonus check.
Chandler Smith, Aric Almirola, Jesse Love and Parker Kligerman are the four highest-finishing series regulars from Richmond that will be competing for a $100,000 bonus at Martinsville Speedway.
