After the Ford Motor Company pulled out of NHRA pro drag racing in late 2013, Cranston, RI’s Bob Tasca III warned it had made a mistake: “I truly believe they have underestimated the passion and loyalty of the NHRA fans” – and lobbied hard for a decision reversal.

Ford agreed to continue supporting his Funny Car program, but Tasca made a promise on his end, too. (more…)

With two races completed in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Racing Series at Grandview Speedway Brett Kressley is on top in the T.P. Trailers Modifieds and Kenny Gilmore leads the standings for the T.P.Truck Equipment Sportsman. A third class of competition, not part of the NASCAR sanctioned events, has Glenn Strunk leading in the new 602 Sportsman division which will be seen in a handfull of races this season. In Sunday’s afternoon’s NASCAR Cup race at RIR Alex Bowman’s late race surge brought him into Victory Lane at Richmond International Raceway in VA.  Middletown, CT’s ended his day in third place after being in the hunt all day long.  Corey LaJoie finished his day in 21st and is the son of two-time Xfinity Champion Randy Lajoie a native of Norwalk, CT.  Berlin, CT’s Ryan Preece finished 29th while Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT wound up 31st.
