Winward Racing Extends IMSA WeatherTech GTD Class Championship Lead with Fourth-Place Finish at the 50th Grand Prix of Long Beach

LONG BEACH, California – Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing team Winward Racing extended its points leads in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT Daytona (GTD) driver and team championship standings with a fourth-place finish Saturday in the 100-minute sprint race at the 50th Grand Prix of Long Beach. Starting seventh in the No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3, co-drivers Russell Ward and Philip Ellis improved three positions on the 1.968-mile Long Beach street circuit in a clean and competitive run to the finish.

The 38th Motorsports Hall of Fame of America (MSHFA) Induction Celebration presented by Toyota Gazoo Racing, which will formally usher the Class of 2026 into the MSHFA, will be held in the Hall’s home in Daytona Beach, Florida, March 9 – 10, 2026.

SONOMA, California (March 25, 2025) – GMG Racing begins another season of multi-tiered SRO America competition this weekend at Sonoma Raceway where four GMG Racing entries across four classes in three different racing series compete in the season-opening race weekend. The GMG Racing quartet includes full-season efforts in the featured SRO GT World Challenge America powered by AWS and the SRO GT America powered by AWS series as well as two entries in the inaugural race weekend of the debuting SRO McLaren Trophy America series.
