There was a lot of hard racing at Michigan but clean air ruled the day as did Kevin “The Closer” Harvick. The win ended a 65-race drought for the veteran Ford driver at a track where Fords have been dominant. When asked what Indianapolis Motor Speedway means to A.J. Allmendinger he responded, “There is no bigger track for me.” Then it should be no surprise that it was a dream come true for the road course ace to win for the second year-in-a-row at the one facility that is so dear to his heart.
What turned out to be a career day for several NASCAR Cup Series drivers turned into a dismal finish for others, like Ross Chastain.

We saw a pretty good race at Pocono and as I said last week, put your wager on an existing winner and probably a Joe Gibbs Racing team.
So I got it half right.

The newly configured Atlanta racetrack combined with the new car sure is providing some interesting racing. While different, it provided some Daytona- and Talladega-like racing.
Clean air and patience were the name of the game at Nashville on Sunday and Chase Elliott was both. For fans, patience was tried as the race was delayed for weather twice for lightning and rain with the second delay lasting over 2 hours. If you were able to stay awake, kudos to you.
The race at Sonoma could have ended a lot differently than it did. But trouble found both of the early frontrunners and opened the door for Daniel Suarez to grab his first ever Cup win.
Kyle Busch was not supposed to win this one. This was shaping up to be a battle between Tyler Reddick and Chase Briscoe, or one of several other drivers under the age of 30. If a veteran was going to win, it was going to be Joey Logano at the ripe old age of 31.
