Corey Day, a standout on dirt, has quickly been working his way up the racing ladder, and on Monday McAnally-Hilgemann Racing announced that they have added the 18-year-old driver to their NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series stable for a four-race stint this season. Day will split his four races between the team’s No. 91 Chevrolet Silverado and a new No. 81 MHR Chevrolet Silverado. (more…)
LOUDON, NH: The museum’s annual Legends Day event will take place on Sunday November 17th at the New England Racing Museum (922 Rt. 106, Loudon, NH). Headlining will be seven road racers who had major success across the New England region. Sam Posey, Skip Barber, Janet Guthrie, Rob Dyson, Chris Dyson, Jocko Maggiacomo Sr and Jocko Maggiacomo Jr will be honored. The event will include an honoree panel discussion, permanent banner unveiling and a buffet lunch. A VIP ticket is available in which you can meet the attending honorees in a small group setting for a photo opportunity, join a private museum tour led by founder Dick Berggren and premier event seating. Barre, VT — Beautiful skies and full crowds greeted the traveling band of American-Canadian Tour faithful for their second visit of the year to Thunder Road International Speedbowl. The NEFCU+VSECU Labor Day Classic saw thirty-one cars enter the pit gate and qualify for starting position in the annual 200-lap holiday weekend event. ACT Rookie of the Year hopeful and current Thunder Road track championship point leader Kaiden Fisher earned the pole alongside former top rookie Erick Sands with both drivers taking a ‘+4’ in the Plus/Minus handicap system.
Fisher would immediately fall back to the rear with a caution prior to the first completed lap with fellow rookie Cole Littlewood. Another quick spin caution re-racked the field once more out of the gate before the field settled in on the lap five restart. Marcel Gravel and Erick Sands battled hard on the return to green but it was the Thunder Road ace Gravel that put the power down on the outside groove. Soon after, two-time track champion Scott Dragon also rounded the ACT regular and set his sights on Gravel. (more…)
