SEEKONK, Mass. — Seekonk Speedway has a packed weekend of excitement planned September 12-13, with drivers continuing their battle for the championship on both Fast Friday and NASCAR Saturday. On top of that, Saturday night is First Responders Night, with free admission for First Responders courtesy of IBEW Local 99, along with the annual Wall of Fame induction. This year, Ronnie Pond, a “Master of Speed” and Johnny Tripp, a multiple-division winner and a former track champion, will both be inducted at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday night.

Haas Factory Team Confident In Ford For Playoff Drive
Earlier this week, the Haas Factory Team, which fields Fords for Cole Custer in the NASCAR Cup Series and Sam Mayer and Sheldon Creed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, announced it would be switching power-plants to Chevrolet in 2026.
With the news coming just as the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs begin Friday in Bristol, Tenn. the drivers were asked if they worried any about Ford’s commitment to the team as it embarks on a title run.

Connor Zilisch to Drive Trackhouse Chevy in the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series
DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – Connor Zilisch, one of the hottest prospects in NASCAR history, will race a Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet full-time in the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series.
The 19-year-old Zilisch and Trackhouse Racing founder and owner Justin Marks announced Saturday at Daytona International Speedway that they’ve reached a multiyear agreement for Zilisch to drive for the three-car team that has already won five Cup Series races this season with drivers Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen.
Crafton Shifts Gears, Majeski To Drive ThorSport No. 88 Full-Time In 2026
Sandusky, OH – ThorSport Racing today announced a new chapter for its storied No. 88 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series entry. Three-time series champion Matt Crafton will conclude his full-time driving career after the 2025 season. His 23-year partnership with Menards stands as the longest-running driver/primary sponsor relationship in NASCAR history. Beginning in 2026, teammate and 2024 series champion Ty Majeski will take the wheel of the No. 88 full-time.
