Here’s How New England Connected Drivers Fared at the Big D’s Twin Qualifiers

Bubba Wallace managed to get a win in the first 500 Qualifier, and Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT came in 13th.

In the second go-around Austin Cindric made his way to Victory Lane with defending Cup Champion Joey Logano of Middletown, CT taking fifth place. Corey LaJoie finished sixth then it was Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT earning the 13th spot.

Note that Corey LaJoie is the son of Two-Time Xfinity Champion Randy LaJoie who grew up in Norwalk, CT before moving South to the Charlotte, NC area in order to be closer to the top NASCAR action.

Drivers Commend NASCAR for Getting Back to Its Roots at Bowman Gray

For the last three years, NASCAR tried a grand experiment, taking its annual preseason exhibition, the Cup Series Clash, to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Much the same as the NFL playing games in London, the idea was NASCAR should stage a race in a new market to grow the sport and let new fans see an event live.

How Did New-England-Connected NASCAR Drivers Do In Phoenix?

First of all, Joey Logano of Middletown, CT won the 2024 Cup Championship again! While Chase Briscoe won the race with Joey Logano coming in eighth then Corey LaJoie in ninth. Then it was Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT coming in 12th while Boston’s Kaz Grala had to settle for 34th. Corey LaJoie is the son of Two-Time NASCAR Xfinity Series Champion Randy, who was a native of Norwalk, CT before moving to the Charlotte, NC area to be closer the top NASCAR Divisions.

Riley Herbest won the Xfinity race with Parker Kligerman of Westport, CT turning in a 14^th finishing position then it was Blaine Perkins coming in 22nd with Patrick Emerling of Long Island, NY and Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT being awarded 36th. Both Perkins and Alfredo race team cars for Cape Cod’s Chris and daughter Mary Our of Chatham, MA

Ryan Blaney won the Cup race while Joey Logano of Middletown, CT came in tenth with Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT finishing 14^th while Boston’s Kaz Grala had to settle for 27^th. Then it was Corey LaJoie that placed 35th. Corey LaJoie is the son of Two-Time Xfinity Champion Randy Lajoie who grew up in Norwalk, CT before he decided to head for Charlotte, NC in order to be closer to the top NASCAR action.

Aric Almirola took the checked flag first in the Xfinity race with seventh place going to Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT while Parker Kligerman of Weston, CT came in eighth. Blaine Perkins finished 19^th with Long Island’s Patrick Emerling caming home in 23rd. Alfredo and Perkins both drive Team Cars for Cape Cod’s Chris Our and his daughter Mary who reside in Chatham, MA.
