Highmark Building Efficiency Establishes Crew Chief Award For Riverhead Raceway Whelen Modified Tour Events

Behind every successful driver and race team stands a dedicated crew chief who coordinates operations leading up to and through race day. Thursday afternoon Riverhead Raceway and HighMark Building Efficiency announced a $250 Crew Chief of the Race Award for both NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events scheduled at the historic bullring. The first award will honor Glenn Dixon June 14th, while the second on September 6th remembers Jason Shephard, two Long Island natives who left their footprint on WMT racing.
Islip 300 By Highmark Building Efficiency Registration Now Open, No Registration Fee Prior To November 13th
Riverhead Raceway officials announced Tuesday morning that registration for the November 16th Islip 300 by HighMark Building Efficiency is now open and available for Modified Tour Type teams by visiting http://www. riverheadraceway.com. Registration is free of charge prior to Wednesday November 13th, a $100 fee per car number will be applies for late entrants.

In January when revealing the 2024 NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Series schedule for Riverhead Raceway, track owners Connie Partridge and Tom Gatz announced an $3,000 increase for the winner’s share of the 8th annual Islip 300 to $10,000. Monday, track GM John Ellwood disclosed Rich Gerbe of HighMark Building Efficiency has agreed to becoming the title sponsor of the November 16th Tour Type Modified event, driving the winner’s share to $12,000.

Monday afternoon, John Ellwood, GM of Riverhead Raceway along with Rich Gerbe of HighMark Building Efficiency announced the Jason Sheppard Crew Chief of the Race Award for the WMT Eddie Partridge 256 Saturday at Riverhead Raceway. The award celebrates the racing career and life of Jason Sheppard, longtime crew chief for Eric Goodale on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour who passed away suddenly in August.

Rich Gerbe, co-founder of Highmark-Building Efficiency announced Friday morning that Highmark would team with Joey Braun of Manorville to chase the 2024 INEX Legend Race Car championship at Riverhead Raceway. Gerbe, the 1999 Legend Race Car champion at Riverhead also disclosed the new pairing would enter the $25,000 to win Carolina Family Pool & Patio INEX Legend Race Car event in December at Southern National Motorsports Park of North Carolina.
