DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – With year-end celebrations by German manufacturers Porsche and BMW occurring in successive weeks, nearly all the 11-car Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) field is set for the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

But what about the semi-trucks that haul them around for thousands of miles, from one event to the next? That depends. As Seekonk Speedway hits the final two weekends of the short-track racing season for Fast Friday and NASCAR Saturday, September 20-21 will determine the Final Four who will compete for the title in each division. As the Sunoco Drive For The Cup revs up, after feature event racing on both nights, four drivers will have the right to contend for the title, while two in each division will go home hoping for another shot next year. Porsche Penske Motorsport will once again field three Porsche 963 race cars at the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans in the 2024 season. The organiser, ACO, confirmed today (Monday 19 February) that the Porsche works team will campaign a third car at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. French works driver Mathieu Jaminet will helm the No. 4 car, with the other drivers announced at a later date.
