INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 24, 2024) – Sunday afternoon’s Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway was a day sports car racing fans and the team at AO Racing will not soon forget. Determined as ever to keep their championship points lead, the team drove an incredible race from last position on the grid to first place, expanding the championship points gap for Rexy, the Porsche 911 GT3 Rawr. Austin Green Capitalizes on First NASCAR Opportunity
The Green family lineage runs deep in NASCAR. Both David Green and Jeff Green are Xfinity Series champions. Now, it’s Austin Green, David’s son, who’s carrying on the familial tradition.
Austin has been racing since he was 4 years old. He began racing go karts before transitioning to bandoleros and legend cars, running races like the Summer Shootout at the Charlotte Motor Speedway quarter mile. He was inspired by his father and uncles to chase the same dream. (more…)
Dan McKeage, Jr. Wins First Career Championship at Wiscasset Speedway
Kids are back in school, the temperature outside is beginning to cool down and the leaves on the trees are beginning to change. Fall is quickly approaching and unfortunately for race fans in New England, that can only mean one thing: the end of the season is near. Fortunately, Wiscasset Speedway still has a couple more weeks of racing before they put a bow on the 2024 schedule.
Wenzel Is Modified Champion, Two First Timers Win Friday At Claremont
CLAREMONT, N.H. – Bay State hot shoe Nate Wenzel was crowned the 2024 Sportsman Modified champion Friday night at Claremont Motorsports Park, earning his second open-wheel title in a row while, on the same event card, two drivers earned their first career victory at the Thrasher Road speedplant.
Both first-timers Kyle Kenny and Bradey Lamotte topped their Friday night feature event. Tyler Leary won the night’s Sportsman Modified feature, Super Street ace Chris Riendeau romped to an easy $1,000 win on Frazer’s Place Night, and Seth Drown won a thriller in the Ridge Runners. (more…)
Bobby Stirk, III Seeking First Late Model Victory in Paradiso Insurance 50 After Piecing Car Back Together
(Stafford Springs, CT)—With Stafford Speedway’s Late Model division set to run their annual extra distance feature event, the Paradiso Insurance 50, this Friday September 6, Bobby Stirk, III and the #9 team sponsored by A6A Associates, Tri-State Elevator & Hoist, and Costa & Son Construction are ready to fight for their first Late Model victory. The fact that Stirk will even be at the track to try to win the race would be a small miracle after crashing his car and seeing the front end briefly catch fire in last week’s feature event. But thanks to some hard work by his crew, Stirk will be at the track ready to chase the checkered flag.
Scott Dragon Takes First NEFCU+VSECU Labor Day Classic at Thunder Road Hometrack
Barre, VT — Beautiful skies and full crowds greeted the traveling band of American-Canadian Tour faithful for their second visit of the year to Thunder Road International Speedbowl. The NEFCU+VSECU Labor Day Classic saw thirty-one cars enter the pit gate and qualify for starting position in the annual 200-lap holiday weekend event. ACT Rookie of the Year hopeful and current Thunder Road track championship point leader Kaiden Fisher earned the pole alongside former top rookie Erick Sands with both drivers taking a ‘+4’ in the Plus/Minus handicap system.
Fisher would immediately fall back to the rear with a caution prior to the first completed lap with fellow rookie Cole Littlewood. Another quick spin caution re-racked the field once more out of the gate before the field settled in on the lap five restart. Marcel Gravel and Erick Sands battled hard on the return to green but it was the Thunder Road ace Gravel that put the power down on the outside groove. Soon after, two-time track champion Scott Dragon also rounded the ACT regular and set his sights on Gravel. (more…)

Korthoff Preston Motorsports Breaks Through for First IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar GTD Victory Sunday at VIR
DANVILLE, Virginia – Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing team Korthoff Preston Motorsports (KPM) broke through for its first victory in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s competitive GT Daytona (GTD) class Sunday with a convincing win by team co-drivers Mikael Grenier and Kenton Koch in the No. 32 Korthoff Preston Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the Michelin GT Challenge at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR). The No. 32’s maiden win came just over three years after the team made its IMSA GTD debut in July of 2021 at Watkins Glen International. The triumph follows KPM’s IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup GTD team and driver championships last year and several near-miss shots at a race win over the course of the team’s full-season campaigns, which began in 2022.
Layne Riggs Captures First Truck Series Win at Milwaukee Mile
For the second-straight day, a second-generation rising NASCAR racing star earned his first-career win. This time it was 22-year-old Layne Riggs claiming the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series victory in Sunday’s Playoff-opening LiUNAI 175! at the historic Milwaukee Mile.
Riggs, son of former NASCAR competitor Scott Riggs, took the lead from Ty Majeski with 53 laps remaining and pulled away to a solid 1.547-second victory over the Wisconsin native and a super-motivated group of Playoff drivers, making the rookie driver’s effort all the more impressive. (more…)
