Next Generation’s Streeter and Morris Take First Wins at Thunder Road

Thunder RoadBarre, VT – Twenty one street legal cars, and a pair of golf cars, took to the highbanks for the annual Run-What-U-Brung festivities on Thursday at Thunder Road. Over fifteen rounds of head-to-head matches finally whittled the field down to two; Street Stock standout Tyler Wheatley and third generation stalwart Howard Stockwell. The tow truck driver went toe-to-toe with the windshield extraordinaire in a finale for the ages with Wheatley taking the overall and Stockwell earning the top four-cylinder honors.

After Chase survived a wild Oval Speed Unlimited Bubba 150 Saturday earning his third career win, he again sat in victory lane after another signature race at the historic bullring. Grennan started things off by winning the Islip 300 last November, then earlier in June won the 75th Anniversary Flying Dutchman Tribute before his $7,166 triumph in the Bubba 150.

Sam Mayer Earns First Career Victory for Haas Factory Team at Iowa

Haas Factory Team, Sam MayerNEWTON, IA (Aug. 3, 2025) – Sam Mayer delivered a milestone victory for the Haas Factory Team (HFT) on Saturday afternoon at Iowa Speedway, capturing the organization’s first-ever win and securing his spot in the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs. Mayer took control of the race in the closing laps, seizing the lead from Jesse Love on a late restart and holding firm over the final 28 laps. The win marked the eighth of Mayer’s Xfinity Series career and his first of the 2025 season.

Wiscasset Speedway returned to action on Saturday night with an action-packed Group 2 program that included the lightning-fast NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites.

The racing action kicked off with the first of two 30-lap features for the Portland Glass Strictly Streets. Brady Romano took off with the early lead, but trouble was on the horizon as Scott Eck and Landon Tapley collided, resulting in a caution. Romano remained strong on the restart but Ben Burgess was on the move, overtaking the lead on lap 10 as Joe Harriman followed in succession. Burgess maintained command following a mid-race restart, picking up his second win of the season in the division. Joe Harriman and Chuck Wagstaff (1st career podium) followed, completing the top 3.
