NMPA to Present Myers Brothers Award to FOX NASCAR Play-by-Play Announcer Mike Joy Friday in Daytona
The National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) will present FOX Sports play-by-play announcer Mike Joy the prestigious Myers Brothers Award on Friday, Feb. 13, at 2:30 PM ET in the Daytona International Speedway media center deadline room.
Joy, who has led the FOX NASCAR broadcast team since 2001, FOX’s first year as a NASCAR broadcast partner, this week marks the 47th Daytona 500 for which he has been a part of live TV or radio coverage and his 57th year in motorsports broadcasting. He calls this year’s “Great American Race” on FOX on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 2:30 PM ET.

Mike Joy, FOX NASCAR’s play-by-play announcer since 2001, embarks on his 26th season with the network alongside analysts Clint Bowyer, marking his sixth season in the FOX broadcast booth, and 2014 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick in his third year. LOS ANGELES – FOX Sports coverage of the 17-race 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season scored in a big way, averaging 1,362,000 viewers according to Nielsen Media Research, a +27% year-to-year increase from 2024 and the most-watched season in 17 years. In 2025, the NTT INDYCAR Series has recorded the most audience growth to date of any sport averaging at least a million viewers.
