Hamlin, Gibbs Penalized For Engine Infraction

NASCAR has assessed the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing team an L2-level penalty for violating engine rules following the team’s victory in the Food City 500 at Bristol on March 17.

Denny Hamlin has been docked 75 points from the NASCAR Cup Series drivers’ championship and Gibbs docked 75 points from the Cup Series owners’ championship. The team was also docked 10 playoff points. Additionally, Hamlin’s crew chief, Chris Gabehart, has been fined $100,000. (more…)

Fresh off his second win of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season last weekend at Richmond Raceway, Chesterfield, Virginia’s Denny Hamlin leads a very-high performing Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) organization to Martinsville Speedway for the Cook Out 400 on Sunday, April 7 at 3 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, the eighth race of this year’s schedule.

Two of the four Joe Gibbs Racing drivers have won already this season – Christopher Bell (Phoenix) and Denny Hamlin (Bristol and Richmond).

Denny Hamlin ran Kyle Larson up into the wall late in the race and bullied his way to his 7th win at Pocono. As NASCAR crowds are wont to do, they voiced their displeasure with Hamlin upon exiting his car to take the checkered flag.
