(Du Quoin, IL) Progressive American Flat Track, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, returns to the Magic Mile on Independence Day as DuQuoin State Fairgrounds hosts a full day of motorcycle racing, live music, family fun, and America’s 250th birthday celebration, Saturday, July 4.
For fans new to the sport, Progressive American Flat Track is America’s original extreme sport, featuring the nation’s top professional dirt track motorcycle racers battling bar-to-bar on purpose-built race bikes. On a Mile track like DuQuoin, riders draft in tight packs, slide through the corners, and race inches apart at speeds of more than 140 mph.
The result is a spectacle unlike anything else in motorsports: thunderous motorcycles, close-quarters racing, last-lap strategy, and the possibility of a photo finish every time the pack comes to the checkered flag.
