Griffith and Stone Take Icebreaker Victories, Mother Nature Steals the Sunshine At Thompson

Thompson, CT — A partly cloudy day was had at Thompson Speedway’s Saturday opener to the 50th Icebreaker weekend with plenty of rain to darken the spirits on an exciting opening day schedule of events. The crew at Thompson Speedway kept the track dry enough to get in full feature events for both the Thompson Street Stocks and the PASS Super Late Models but the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series was a casualty to the rain and will be postponed to the Friday of World Series weekend on October 11. Allan Pedersen of Center Moriches however is in the enviable position of having three seats waiting for him at the Riverhead Raceway NASCAR Pack the Track Night opening night May 4th. A seven division Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program will usher in the 74th season of racing at Riverhead on May 4th.

NASCAR to Manage Racing Operations for Bowman Gray Stadium with City of Winston-Salem

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 21, 2024) – Today, NASCAR announced that it has acquired Winston-Salem Speedway, Inc., the lessee of the historic Bowman Gray Stadium. NASCAR will manage racing operations under the lease with the City of Winston-Salem that runs through Dec. 2050.
