In July type conditions the May Meltdown program was presented Sunday afternoon at Riverhead Raceway feature the first of the Miller Lite Triple Crown Series events for the Street Stocks and Mini Stocks. In the 30-lapper for the Street Stocks Dave Antos of Lindenhurst scored his second win in eight days at the track while the Mini Stock 30 fell to Tony Collinsworth of Calverton. (more…)
When looking ahead to the Miller Lite 200 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event Saturday May 14th at Riverhead Raceway it will be hard not to pick a tested tough WMT veteran for the win. However the quarter mile bullring has provided some surprise winners and results along the way in the previous 67 races and fans might even have to look past the 2022 WMT roster for a potential winner. Over the first 115-laps of the Miller Lite 200 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at Riverhead Raceway Saturday a combination of Tom Rogers Jr. of Riverhead, Dave Brigati of Calverton and Kyle Soper of Manorville showed the way. For awhile it appeared Ed Brunnhoelzl Jr. who was the last Riverhead regular to win a WMT race in 1995 would witness that 26-year mark erased. Then the second half of the race unfolded with WMT championship contender Patrick Emerling of Orchard Park, NY taking the lead on lap 116 from Soper to score the victory. (more…)
