(April 15, 2025) – Flying Lizard Motorsports brought home another trophy from the streets of Long Beach this weekend, with driver Elias Sabo earning a third-place finish in Race Two of the GT America powered by AWS doubleheader. Racing the No. 80 5.11 Tactical BMW M4 GT3 EVO, Sabo rebounded from a challenging first race to finish the weekend on the podium at one of the most iconic street circuits in North America.
LONG BEACH, California (April 15, 2025) – Longtime GMG Racing driver Kyle Washington continued his 2025 roll in national sports car racing sprint race competition Saturday and Sunday at the 50th Grand Prix of Long Beach with a pair of second place finishes in each day’s 40-minute SRO GT America powered by AWS races in his No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R.
The hard-earned runner-up results are Washington’s best career finishes at Long Beach and give him a run of four-straight podium finishes in top-tier sports car sprint race series to date that are just part of his early-season success this year.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – After opening the season with the 36 Hours of Florida (aka the Rolex 24 At Daytona and the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring), the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship changed things up with the 100 minutes of Southern California (aka the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach).
Not only was the sprint race a fraction of the length of either of the first two events, the competition was pared down from four classes – Grand Touring Prototype (GTP), Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2), Grand Touring Daytona Pro (GTD PRO) and Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) – to two classes: GTP and GTD.
LONG BEACH, California – Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing team Winward Racing extended its points leads in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT Daytona (GTD) driver and team championship standings with a fourth-place finish Saturday in the 100-minute sprint race at the 50th Grand Prix of Long Beach. Starting seventh in the No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3, co-drivers Russell Ward and Philip Ellis improved three positions on the 1.968-mile Long Beach street circuit in a clean and competitive run to the finish.
LONG BEACH, Calif. (April 12, 2025) – AO Racing continued its winning streak in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on Saturday, claiming victory in the 100-minute Grand Prix of Long Beach. The team behind the Porsche 911 GT3 “Rawr” executed a flawless pit strategy and kept the car clean, leaping ahead of the competition in pit lane to take the win.

LONG BEACH, California (April 11, 2025) — The Motorsports Hall of Fame of America announced its 2026 Induction Class today at the 50th running of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. The 38th Motorsports Hall of Fame of America (MSHFA) Induction Celebration presented by Toyota Gazoo Racing, which will formally usher the Class of 2026 into the MSHFA, will be held in the Hall’s home in Daytona Beach, Florida, March 9 – 10, 2026.
A short, strategic sports car street showcase serves as the third IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship round of 2025, with the series’ Grand Touring Prototype and Grand Touring Daytona class cars set to race 100 minutes in the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. Upwards of 27 cars covering 11 automotive brands will showcase their track-to-street technology in sunny Southern California.
