Yoann Bonato is on top of a thrilling battle for first place on Rally Islas Canarias, completing leg one of the FIA European Rally Championship counter leading by a mere 0.3sec.
Bonato, behind the wheel of a Citroën C3 Rally2 on Michelin tyres, charged in front on this morning’s first stage by demoting overnight leader Hayden Paddon.
The FIA European Rally Championship continues to go from strength to strength in 2024 with a standout entry list for the season-opening event highlighting the level of interest among competing teams and drivers.
The stage is set for the first asphalt round of the 2023 FIA European Rally Championship, Rally Islas Canarias. Taking place from 4 – 6 May, the event has challenged ERC drivers and their teams on 30 previous occasions and this year’s edition, the 47th, will be no exception.
Nine-time World Rally Champion, Sébastien Loeb, will once again compete behind the wheel of a M-Sport Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1 at Rally de Portugal in May. (more…)
