Barre, VT – A beautiful, summer-like day greeted the fans and teams of Thunder Road Speedbowl to set the scene for a history-making Vermont Milk Bowl. Three segments of racing awaited the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour / Maplefields-Irving Late Models Sunday morning with Marcel Gravel pacing the pack early in Segment #1. It started with a bang on lap one, in turn one as Brandon Gray, Bryan Wall Jr. and Erick Sands saw their days end early in a crashing of steel and concrete. Gravel set the pace but fell under attack from current Touring point leader Raphael Lessard at lap 10. Gravel regained the high ground on lap 19 and kept the hammer down for the Segment #1 win.

Wolcott’s Marcel Gravel Takes Career Defining, Emotional Win in 62nd Vermont Milk Bowl

Barre, VT — Following the annual pomp and circumstance of the annual season ending classic, the brave drivers of the American-Canadian Tour took on the first of three Segments in the 62nd Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank. Polesitter Gabe Brown jumped ahead to lead the pack early while collecting the first lap money of the event along with Marcel Gravel in second and Jimmy Hebert in third. Driving hard on the outside lane, Gravel launched to lead lap nine with Hebert and previous Milk Bowl winners Jason Corliss and Chris Pelkey in tow. A trio of mid-race, quick cycle cautions slowed the segment for heart-pounding restarts before Marcel Gravel claimed the opening segment win with Jason Corliss, Brown, Hebert and Pelkey rounding out the top five. Barre, VT — For the 57th time since 1986, the American-Canadian Tour graced the third-mile oval of Oxford Plains Speedway and once again, a first-time winner emerged victorious.
