NASCAR “Positive” and “Promising” After Rain Tire Test at Martinsville
Words such as “positive” and “promising” were among the descriptors used by John Probst, NASCAR’s Senior Vice President of Racing Innovation, as the one-day session drew to a close. The test, he said, wasn’t a tipping point toward a full-fledged yes or no on going forward with wet-weather tires on shorter oval tracks in certain conditions, but it was key to gathering data and feedback for further assessment. Richie Evans’ Ford Pinto, which has been kept in Brockton (MA) at Shoe City Auto Sales, the oldest car dealer in the city, is owned by Steve and Glenn Zimmerman. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series News & Notes – Atlanta Motor Speedway
Of the six different race winners at Atlanta since the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series returned to the 1.5-mile circuit in 2015 after a two-year break, five are in the field for Saturday’s Fr8Auctions 200 (2:30 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
Grant Enfinger (2020), Kyle Busch (2019), Brett Moffitt (2018), John Hunter Nemechek (2016) and Matt Crafton (2015) are all looking to capture the checkered flag once again in Georgia. The only winner from that span not in the race is Christopher Bell (2017 winner).
