LEXINGTON, Ohio – Turner Motorsport has made a habit of developing drivers through its own internal ladder system and may have found its newest star Sunday at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Francis Selldorff adds his name to the list of those rising American drivers in the Turner stable such as Robby Foley and Patrick Gallagher. Selldorff, co-driving the No. 95 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 EVO with Dillon Machavern, rose to the challenge of fending off an overflowing pool of more experienced IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge veterans to capture his first Grand Sport (GS) class win in Sunday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 4 Hours of Mid-Ohio.

IMSA Insider (Issue 601):  Michelin Pilot Challenge Headliner in IMSA Visit to Mid-Ohio

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – For nearly a decade, two IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge races run an additional two hours beyond the standard-length of two hours, but pack a similar punch of parity and picture-perfect finishes. Daytona International Speedway has hosted the most, with its BMW M Endurance Challenge race running to four hours every year since 2017, while Watkins Glen International, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, Road America, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course have alternated the second.

IMSA Riding New Wave of Emerging GTP Talents

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Every “era” of sports car racing has its iconic performers. In IMSA’s more than 50-year history, that’s broken down by top-class periods of who’s starred in prototypes.

With the reborn Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) class now three years into the formula, there’s a pattern of stars starting to emerge. There are long-time prototype drivers who raced in the previous Daytona Prototype international (DPi) and Daytona Prototype and/or Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) iterations before GTP competing alongside those whose main top-class experience is focused on GTP.

Excitement continues to build for the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin’s first-ever oval race at Martinsville Speedway on October 26. The anticipation isn’t the only thing building, however, as Sunoco has stepped up to add prize money and bring the total purse to $63,000.

The Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup regular season came to a close last week with champion Gresham Wagner receiving a check for $250,000 and Rookie of the Year Westin Workman earning $80,000. NASA’s Teen Mazda Challenge Celebrates its 10th Anniversary

Now in its 10th year of providing drivers as young as 13 years old the opportunity to compete in Spec Miata and Spec MX-5, the National Auto Sport Association’s Teen Mazda Challenge is excited to announce the opening of registration for 2023. Registration opens Friday, March 17 for the 2023 season, which concludes its points accumulation mid-October to align with the time frame for consideration for Mazda’s MX-5 Cup Shootout.
