The Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame To Induct Barbara & Jim Cromarty
Thursday evening May 30th,2024 will be a very special one in the rich history of stock car racing on Long Island. Yet not an engine will be fired, nor a lap turned. The Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame will induct Barbara & Jim Cromarty into the hall recognizing their 39 years in racing as promoters of Islip Speedway and owners/promoters of Riverhead Raceway. The Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be hosted at Flowerfields of St. James.
Thunder Road Announces Squier Cup Late Model Triple Crown to Honor Late Founder
Barre, VT — Starting a picture-perfect day on Quarry Hill last Sunday, Thunder Road Speedbowl managing partner Cris Michaud announced the creation of the Squier Cup in honor of late Thunder Road founder Ken Squier with a new granite monument at the Speedbowl he created back in 1960. Rain Makes Things Interesting for Final Day of Memorial Day Classic At Lime Rock
The final day of the Trans Am Memorial Day Classic was a testament to the unpredictable nature of racing and the resilience of its fans and participants. Heavy rain greeted the day and later bid it farewell, but in between, the sun broke through just in time for the 100-mile Trans Am TA/XGT/SGT/GT race, providing perfect conditions for a dramatic and thrilling event.
