Saddled with starting 12th in Saturday night’s Buzz Chew Chevrolet NASCAR Modified feature didn’t deter John Baker of Brookhaven from racing to his second win of the season on I Love American night at Riverhead Raceway as he won the 50-lap feature event. Winchester, NH – Saturday night Monadnock Speedway celebrated the return of the Tri Track Modified racing series, the speedway’s 51st anniversary and the life of Johnny Corliss, former racer and car owner. The evenings events tied together nicely. Corliss, a Winchester businessman, was in the field of racers on Monadnock’s opening night, August 13, 1971 and at his passing was owner of one the race cars competing in the Tri Track series. WINCHESTER, N.H. — Strategy was the name of the game in the fourth round of the Tri Track Open Modified Series season at Monadnock Speedway on Saturday, August 14. While Chase Dowling started his day at the back of his qualifying heat and the 100-lap feature, the end of the 100-lap special sponsored by Wonder Casino saw him park the No. 9 Start Finish Motorsports machine in Victory Lane.
Beech Ridge welcomes back the Granite State Pro Stock Series tour for its second visit of the season, pairing top regional teams with the hometrack Pro Series teams! Ridge drivers have had the hometrack advantage in prior races, will the Granite State teams have the historic oval figured out this time around? (Stafford Springs, CT)—This Friday night, August 13, will see Stafford Speedway’s SK Modified® cars take part in their second extra distance event of the 2021 season in the North American Motor Car Senator’s Cup. The SK Modifieds® will race 50-laps instead of their customary 40-lap distance, and with the extra distance comes extra cash. Stafford will increase the SK Modified® feature purse by $2,700 with the purse increase spread evenly throughout the field as each finishing position will receive an extra $100. (more…)
