Riverhead Raceway hosted the annual Back To School Monster Truck mid week spectacular Wednesday evening complete with six Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series feature events with Max Handley of Medford topping the list of race winners when he won the 25-lap Eagle Auto Mall Crate Modified event. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will now headline Sunday of World Series weekend with their Sunoco World Series 150 presented by Budweiser and the Outlaw Open Modified will now compete with the new $10,000-to-Win Open Modified Sunoco 100 joining the Saturday, October 8th program alongside the PASS Super Late Models and American-Canadian Tour.
When racing gives you lemons, you make lemonade. That is exactly what Chris Turbush of Wading River did Saturday night at Riverhead Raceway capturing his first career NASCAR Modified victory in spectacular fashion. Turbush was penalized earlier in the race for rough driving after contact with another competitor.
