Running four cars across three different SRO America series, GMG Racing won both a GT America powered by AWS Sunday sprint and the series debut race for the all-new McLaren Trophy America championship on Saturday last month in the season-opening weekend of SRO America competition at Sonoma Raceway.

When Katherine Legge took the green flag at Phoenix Raceway earlier this year, she became the 17th different woman to compete at the Cup level. The last woman to run a Cup race before her was Danica Patrick over seven years ago. And much like Patrick’s last race, Legge’s debut was eventful, spinning twice and falling 102 laps shy of the checkered flag. But the 44-year-old remains undeterred.

Speedway on Oct. 22, 1995, Burton was still in search of the kind of front-running consistency displayed by his peers, including his brother, Jeff, who already had five of his 21 career Cup Series victories before a dominant, six-win season in 1999.

Newly-Cleared Kurt Busch Hoping Race of Champions Opens Doors to More Racing

Kurt Busch is hoping that his upcoming participation at the Race of Champions is a springboard to a broader return to racing.

The 2004 NASCAR Cup Series champion was forced to call time on his full-time NASCAR career in 2023 due to the effects of a concussion sustained in a c rash during qualifying at Pocono in 2022. He gained medical clearance to get back into the cockpit this week ahead of the Race of Champions in Sydney on March 7-8, and told RACER that he hopes that more driving is on the horizon. (more…)
