Spencer SpeedwayWilliamson, N.Y. – (August 31, 2025) – The conclusion of the Maynard Troyer Classic VI, presented by F/A Products and Planter Box Direct, is set for this Friday, September 5 at Spencer Speedway in Williamson, N.Y. Fans are invited to attend with free grandstand admission as the Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series and Rocket Performance 602 Sportsman Modified Series settle unfinished business from last weekend.

The fields for each feature were already determined through redraws before inclement weather forced an early conclusion to Friday’s program. Now, fans will enjoy a pair of high-stakes feature events to officially close out Spencer Speedway’s 2025 season.

Owen Grennan Powers To Second Riverhead Raceway NASCAR Modified Victory Of 2025 Saturday

Riverhead RacewayComing into the Newsday Salutes First Responders NASCAR Modified feature Saturday at Riverhead Raceway, Owen Grennan of Glen Cove formulated a game plan upon finding out he’d start outside of the front row. Grennan, a schoolteacher by day executed his plan to perfection winning the 50-lap main event, his second of 2025 and third of his career. Prior to racing Connie Partridge & Tom Gatz in conjunction with Newsday presented a moving salute to all 1st responders during opening ceremonies, complete with a flyover by the Suffolk County Police Department.

OSWEGO, N.Y. – Despite now being a part-time competitor on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, Ron Silk now has more victories than any other driver on the 2025 season.

The two-time champion earned his third checkered flag of the year at Oswego Speedway on Saturday evening after cycling to the front after a sequence of late pit stops. The triumph was Silk’s third at Oswego and 29th overall with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, moving him into sole possession of eighth on the all-time win list.

Grandview SpeedwayBECHTELSVILLE, PA. – Following a series of second place finishes and nights when it looked like he might have won, Eddie Strada of Lake Ariel, Pa. stormed to his first career T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modified win, in another thrilling night of racing Saturday night at Grandview Speedway.

Joey Vaccaro of Reading, Pa. was able to maintain the lead after a three lap side-by-side duel with Teague MIller of Barto, Pa., and late race pressure from Addison Meitzler of Kempton, Pa. to score his second win of the season in the 25-lap T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman thriller.

PORTLAND, OR – A dramatic overtime pass for the win punctuated a nearly perfect afternoon for JR Motorsports driver Connor Zilisch at Portland (Ore.) International Raceway, where the 19-year old claimed his series-best eighth NASCAR Xfinity Series win of the season – the best series victory total ever for a rookie driver.

Only weeks removed from breaking his collarbone celebrating another win – at the Watkins Glen, N.Y. road course – Zilisch claimed pole position, won both stages, set fastest lap and celebrated it all in Victory Circle of the famed 1.967-mile road course in the scenic Pacific Northwest.

NCTS Race Recap: Corey Heim Opens NASCAR Truck Playoffs With Eighth Win Of Season

DARLINGTON, S.C.—Even though the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series changed the clock from the regular season to the Playoffs, it was still “Corey Heim Time” on Saturday at Darlington Raceway.

Pulling away after a restart on Lap 134 of 147, Heim won the Playoff-opening Sober or Slammer 200 at the challenging 1.366-mile track. The win was Heim’s eighth of the year, one short of Greg Biffle’s record nine-victory season in 1999.

Just five races remain in the 2025 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season as the series returns to historic Oswego Speedway in New York for the running of the Toyota Mod Classic 150 this Saturday night (8 p.m. ET on FloRacing).

Saturday’s race marks the Modified Tour’s 18th visit to Oswego, with the first four visits occuring in 1988. Brian Ross captured the first two checkered flags at the track, with Mike McLaughlin and George Kent Jr. capturing the next two at the 0.625-mile oval.
