Kyle Larson pulled off a rare sweep of the weekend races at Watkins Glen. In the Xfinity race, he was the beneficiary of contact between the leaders that sent them both spinning and allowing Larson through to hold off AJ Allmendinger.
Fast forward to the rain delayed Sunday race and it was Larson once again holding off AJ for the win. But the win wasn’t without some controversy.

HOLTSVILLE, N.Y. – With six races to go in the 2022 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season, Justin Bonsignore and the Ken Massa Motorsports team will get back to work this week in Connecticut. Set for a mid-week event in the Phoenix Communications 150, the tour will return to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park for the first time since 2020, with race night set for Wednesday, August 17, at 8 p.m., live on FloRacing.TV.
Kyle Larson held off a hard-charging Chase Elliott for his first ever win at Watkins Glen, and his Cup series-leading 5th win.
With Elliott starting from the rear for failing pre-race inspection, Larson was one of the favorites to win the race.

HOLTSVILLE, N.Y. — Justin Bonsignore looks to get his quest for a third NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour championship steered back on the right track this Saturday, May 15, at Riverhead Raceway. Set to return to competition at his home track, Bonsignore looks to add a fifth consecutive win at the New York oval in Whelen Modified Tour action.

RICHMOND, Va. — Justin Bonsignore spent Tuesday morning and early afternoon taking laps around Richmond Raceway in Virginia behind the wheel of his No. 51 Phoenix Communications, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour ride for Kenneth Massa Motorsports. As part of a tire test, Bonsignore took laps in preparation for the Virginia Is For Racing Lovers 150, which is set for Friday, September 10. The race will mark the return to the .750-mile oval for the Whelen Modified Tour for the first time since 2002.
Chemung, N.Y. – (May 1, 2021) – Chemung (N.Y.) Speedrome will provide the stage for the Race of Champions Modified Series return to racing in its home state of New York. The series was “idle” in the Empire State during the 2020 season due to the Covid-19 pandemic that wreaked havoc worldwide. STAFFORD, Conn. — Justin Bonsignore finished 13th in the rain-shortened NAPA Spring Sizzler at Stafford Motor Speedway on Friday, April 30. The race was deemed official after just 130 of the 150 lap distance due to persistent rain in the area. It was the second of 14 races on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour calendar and first of three at the Connecticut oval in 2021. (more…)
