Results From Northeastern NASCAR Competitors At Daytona Last Weekend

Tyler Redick won the Cup race. Joey Logano of Middletown, CT came in third while Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT ended up 25th.

Austin Hill won the O’ReIlly Auto Parts event. Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT came in 11th with Patrick Emerling of LI, NY finishing 13th. Gio Ruggiero of Seekonk, MA ended his day in 37th.

In the Craftsman Truck Series, Chandler Small won that one. Gio Ruggiero finished second while Stewart Friesen of NJ ended up tenth. Not so lucky was Corey LaJoie. Corey is the son of Randy LaJoie who grew up in Norwalk, CT and was the winner of two NASCAR Championship in the Xfinity Series.

Also on the menu was an ARCA race with Gio Ruggiero also taking that one while Andy Jankowiak of Buffalo, NY cracked the top ten.

How Did Northeastern Competitors Do In The Bowman Gray Clash?

Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT ended up taking the Checkered Flag in the Clash at Bowman Gray while Middletown, Ct’s Joey Logano took the 11^th place. Both drivers hung on to finish putting up with clear weather which turned into the worst storm that can be described as a finish in what’s called a Nor’easter, if you live anywhere chose to the City of Boston, MA.

Ryan Blaney won the Cup race. Joey Logano of Middletown, CT came in fourth while Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT ended his day in ninth.

Jesse Love won the Xfinity race. Justin Bonsignore of Long Island, NY came in tenth while Anthony Alfredo of Ridgewood, CT made the top ten. Not so fortunate was Patrick Emerling of Long Island, NY who ended his day in 36th.

In the Trucks it was Corey Heim going to Victory Lane. Corey LaJoie ended up seventh, while Gio Ruggiero of Seekonk, MA had a tough day and ended up 31st.

How Did The Northeastern Drivers Do At Talladega?

Chase Briscoe won the NASCAR Cup race at Talladega. Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT came in 15th while Joey Logano of Middletown, CT came in 16th. Anthony Alfredo of Ridgewood, CT ended up 21st.

Gio Ruggerio of Seekonk, MA won his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck race this past weekend at Talladega. He was always in the hunt. Corey LaJoie was eighth while Parker Kligerman ending up 26th. Lajoie is the son of two-time Xfinity Champion Randy LaJoie from Norwalk, CT.

Shane Gisbergen won the Charlotte Roval NASCAR Cup race. Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT ended up sixth. Joe Logano of Middletown, CT managed to take 20th.

Connor Zilisch won the NASCAR Xfinity race. Kaz Grala of Boston came in fourth, and Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT ended up 25th.

Corey Heim won the Craftsman Truck race. Gio Ruggiero of Seekonk, MA came in third, and Parker Kligerman of Weston, CT ended his day in 35th.

Northeastern NASCAR Drivers and Kansas… How Did They Fare?

Chase Elliott won the Cup Series race at Kansas. Joey Logano of Middletown, CT finished 21st, with Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT coming in 26th.

In the Xfinity Series it was Brandon Jones in Victory Lane. Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT finished in 25. Justin Bonsignore of LI, NY ended up 37th.

Track Talk – Northeastern Drivers’ Performance At New Hampshire

Here’s this week’s Track Talk, from northeastern correspondent, Lou Modestino.

Corey Heim won the Craftsman Truck at New Hampshire. Gio Ruggiero of Seekonk, MA took fourth while Corey LaJoie (originally from Norwalk, CT) ended up eighth. Mike Christopher of Plainville, CT ended up 13^th.Long Island, NY Star Patrick Emerling was not as lucky and the best he could do was to finish 28th.

In the Cup Series race on Sunday. Ryan Blaney won, with pole winner Joey Logano of Middletown, CT finishing fourth. Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT ended up 14th.

Nice to see that NHMS had a big crowd on hand. Moving the event to a Play-off date from Mid-July was the right thing to do.

How Did Northeastern Drivers Perform At Dover And Toronto?

Denny Hamlin won the NASCAR Cup race at Dover. Joey Logano of Middletown, CT came in 14th. Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT finished 19th.

A day earlier, Connor Zilisch won the Xfinity race at Dover. Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT came in 23rd while Boston’s Kaz Grala ended his day in 31st.

In Indycar at Toronto, Pato O’Ward won the Indy Car race. Things didn’t go well for Santino Ferrucci of Woodbury, CT who had big problems and ended up 27^th due to a DNS!

Brad Keselowski won the Cup race with Corey LaJoie coming in 16th, Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT was 17th with Boston’s Kaz Grala taking 18th then Joey Logano of Middletown, CT finished 21st. Corey LaJoie is the son of Norwalk, CT’s Randy Lajoie who won two NASCAR Xfinity Championships.

Justin Alliger came in first in the Xfinity race with Parker Kligerman of Westport, CT took sixth, Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT came in 14th, Kyle Weatherman was 17th, David Starr took 24th with David Everling of LI, NY coming in 33rd. Weatherman and Starr both drive team cars for Cape Cod’s Chris and Mary Our who are residents of Harwich, MA.
