Northeastern NASCAR Drivers and Kansas… How Did They Fare?

Kansas Speedway NASCARChase Elliott won the Cup Series race at Kansas.  Joey Logano of Middletown, CT finished 21st, with Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT coming in 26th.
In the Xfinity Series it was Brandon Jones in Victory Lane.  Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT finished in 25.  Justin Bonsignore of LI, NY ended up 37th.

The last driver to pilot a car for Chris Our Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series was Boston’s Kaz Grala,  who drove the #5 Chevrolet in the team’s final race at Dover Motor Speedway on July 19, 2025, shortly after Our Motorsports and regular driver Kris Wright had mutually parted ways. The team ceased operations as an organization after this race, ending a five-year run in the series.
Here’s a breakdown of the final events in the Xfinity Series for Cape Cod’s Chris and Mary Our from Chatham, MA.
  • Kris Wright‘s Departure: Our Motorsports announced a mutual parting of ways with Kris Wright, their full-time driver for 2025, following the Sonoma race on July 15, 2025.
  •  Kaz Grala’s Final RideKaz Grala was brought in to drive the #5 Chevrolet for the final event of the season at Dover, which served as the team’s last race, according to Frontstretch.
  • The Team Ceases OperationsAfter the Dover weekend, Our Motorsports officially shut down their NASCAR operations, concluding their participation in the Xfinity Series.

The ARCA Series was also in action at Kansas with Brandon Queen winning.  Seekonk, MA driver Gio Ruggiero of Seekonk, MA was the runner-up.  Buffalo, NY’s Andy Jankowiak ended his day with an 18th place.
