NXS Race Recap: Connor Zilisch Wins Overtime Thriller in Portland

PORTLAND, OR – A dramatic overtime pass for the win punctuated a nearly perfect afternoon for JR Motorsports driver Connor Zilisch at Portland (Ore.) International Raceway, where the 19-year old claimed his series-best eighth NASCAR Xfinity Series win of the season – the best series victory total ever for a rookie driver.

Only weeks removed from breaking his collarbone celebrating another win – at the Watkins Glen, N.Y. road course – Zilisch claimed pole position, won both stages, set fastest lap and celebrated it all in Victory Circle of the famed 1.967-mile road course in the scenic Pacific Northwest.

Denny Hamlin Wins Thrilling Overtime Finish at Dover Motor Speedway

Denny Hamlin prevailed in Sunday’s EchoPark AutoTrader 400 at Dover (Del.) Motor Speedway – a race that featured a 56-minute red flag for rain, late-race strategy decisions, and involved a pair of overtime restarts before the trophy was ultimately settled between a pair of Joe Gibbs Racing teammates.

But the veteran Hamlin got it all right when it mattered most, getting a jump on the field in both overtime restarts and in the end holding off his newest teammate Chase Briscoe who was even on fresher tires. It marks back-to-back wins at the Dover concrete-mile for Denny Hamlin and a NASCAR Cup Series-best fourth victory of 2025.

Christopher Bell Snatches First Cup Atlanta Win In Wild Overtime (Includes Finishing Order)

HAMPTON, Ga. – Christopher Bell prevailed in overtime to claim the victory in Sunday’s Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway – officially leading only the final lap and getting the photo nod in a three-wide run as a caution flag came out on the last lap to end the NASCAR Cup Series race.

Justin Allgaier Wins Overtime Xfinity Series Race at Michigan (Results)

Justin Allgaier used pit strategy and a fast No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet to take the lead of Saturday’s Cabo Wabo 250 at Michigan International Speedway with 16 laps of regulation remaining and then held off the field in two laps of overtime – before a caution came out ending the race for an accident mid-field. Austin Dillon Wins Overtime Thriller at Richmond Raceway

Joey Logano wins at Nashville after a record five overtime restarts

LEBANON, Tenn. – It took a record five overtime restarts to settle Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway, but two-time series champion Joey Logano finally emerged as the race winner, securing his first win of the season and a bid into the 2024 Playoffs in dramatic fashion.
