A newly released independent economic impact study conducted by the United States Motorsports Association (USMA) confirms what locals and race fans have long known—Knoxville Raceway is not just the “Sprint Car Capital of the World,” but a significant economic engine for the State of Iowa.

For the first time this season and 75th time in history, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour heads to New York’s Long Island to compete at Riverhead Raceway this Saturday night with the running of the Miller Lite Salutes Steve Park 200 (8 p.m. ET on FloRacing).
Riverhead has a long and storied history with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, which has been visiting the track since the its inaugural season in 1985. Future NASCAR Cup Series driver Jimmy Spencer won the first two events at the track that year, with Richie Evans claiming the third.

These special NASCAR Cup Series races will take place at EchoPark Speedway (aka Atlanta), the Chicago Street Race, Sonoma, Dover, and Indianapolis at the Brickyard.
PORTLAND, Ore. (June 2, 2025) – Public ticket sales began today (June 2) at 10 a.m. PT for all multi-day tickets for two major August race events at Portland International Raceway (PIR) – the BITNILE.COM Grand Prix of Portland, featuring the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, and Pacific Office Automation 147, headlined by the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
During the winter months Kyle Ellwood’s INEX Legend Race Car owners Eric Lutz and his son Chance decided to add a NASCAR Modified to their 2025 Riverhead Raceway plans with Ellwood at the wheel. Sunday, in just their third start the new combination scored the 50-lap NASCAR Modified victory, the ninth of Kyle’s career. A Saturday rain out implemented the new rain date policy announced by management during their schedule release.
Entering the final weekend of what is one of the wettest months of May on record, Riverhead Raceway had been able to skirt the wet stuff, until now. Friday morning track management announced with a highly unfavorable forecast projected; they were moving the Saturday evening NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program to Sunday afternoon June 1st. The Local Sports League Team Night that was schedules for Sunday will also move to Sunday afternoon as well.
