When one grows up an aspiring race car driver on Long Island the ultimate goal is to win a NASCAR Modified event at Riverhead Raceway. Saturday night Chris Rogers of Patchogue attained that goal when he won the 50-lap Advanced Auto Parts Night event becoming the fifth Modified winner in five races to date in 2023. BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – The 61st anniversary season of professional stock car racing got off to a thrilling start on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway, and when all the close racing and position swapping was over, former Track Champion Mike Gular of Boyertown, Pa. was able to score the $7500 payday in the 6th annual VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial. BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – The season opener at Grandview Speedway will have to wait one more week, as rain has forced the postponement of the Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker until April 8.
After receiving significant rain overnight into the morning hours, leaving the race track facility very wet, and a forecast including high winds and possible severe storms at race time this evening, the decision was made to postpone the season opening Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker. (more…)

Coming into the final month of racing at Riverhead Raceway Saturday night defending Buzz Chew Chevrolet NASCAR Modified champion Tom Rogers Jr. of Riverhead had two goals on his mind. Try and go out and win the 50-lap feature event for long time team member Pete “Fuzzy” Jones who passed away earlier in the week and also continue his streak of at least one victory for the 18th consecutive race season.
