The Next Gen car is a collaboration of the brightest engineering minds in racing, with contributions coming from all sides of the NASCAR and automotive industries. The design of the Next Gen car gives the drivers greater control while putting an emphasis back on race strategies, team personnel and vehicle setups. Swanson Shows Poise in Early Season, Wins First-Career Pole Award at Stafford

Acton, MA (May 4, 2021): On Friday night, April 30, Matt Swanson of Acton, MA, earned his first career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour pole award during qualifying for the prestigious Spring Sizzler.  Swanson, driver of the famed Ole Blue for Mike Boehler Racing Enterprises of E. Freetown, MA, turned a lap of 18.008 seconds, nearly eclipsing an average speed of 100 (99.956) mph, to earn the Mayhew Tools Dominator Pole Award. (more…)

Drellos starts title defense with a big win at Devil’s Bowl

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Demetrios Drellos picked up right where he left off last year: On top at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. The reigning Sportsman Modified champion opened the new season on Saturday, May 1, with a dominant win during a wildly unpredictable night presented by Mike’s Fuels of Bridport. A total of 118 racecars jammed the pit area and outer parking lot as a nice spectator crowd filtered in for the 2021 lid-lifter, and Drellos collected a whopping $3,200 for his victory in the race honoring the late Matt Bilodeau. Massive Field Turns Out for ThunderRoad Practice Day

Barre, VT — A huge field of cars filed through the pits for the Thunder Road Car Show and Practice Day on Saturday, May 1. When all was said and done, 119 drivers across 4 divisions took to the track in preparation for the Community Bank N.A. 150 on FloRacing this Sunday, May 2. The speeds were as big as the fields with racers storming out of the gates after a long, cold Vermont winter. (more…)

In what is one of the longest continuous marketing partnerships in short track racing across the country Riverhead Raceway management announced Saturday during the track’s second practice day that Buzz Chew Auto Group would return for the 2021 NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series. The return of the Southampton, L.I. based auto & truck dealership to the Riverhead fold marks the 37th consecutive season of marketing partnership between the two parties complete with a new twist for 2021. Time was of the essence on Saturday as a thunderstorm was barreling toward Talladega Superspeedway in the middle of the NASCAR Xfinity Series race. The competition was fierce but as the skies opened up, it was Kaulig Racing’s Jeb Burton that was able to hold onto the lead just before the final caution came out before the race was red-flagged and ultimately called because of weather securing his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series win. NASCAR Xfinity Series News & Notes – Talladega Superspeedway

The NASCAR Xfinity Series was off last weekend as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Cup Series took on Richmond Raceway. Prior to that, the NASCAR Xfinity Series was in Martinsville, Virginia for the Cook Out 250. The race was postponed after weather took over during the originally scheduled start on Friday. The race was rescheduled for Sunday, April 11 and the series crowned another first-time winner in JR Motorsport’s driver Josh Berry. (more…)

For the 9th consecutive year, rookie drivers in Stafford Speedway’s SK Light, Limited Late Model, and Street Stock divisions will all be racing for a $500 end of season bonus that will be provided by R.A.D. Auto Machine of Ludlow, MA.  The highest finishing rookie drivers in each division will receive a $500 bonus and all drivers who have made less than 5 division starts in previous seasons are eligible to compete in the R.A.D.
