Thompson, CT — An incredible flood of fans entered Thompson Speedway on Wednesday night for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour’s annual midweek Thompson 150 with plenty of magic in the air. Along with a much anticipated visit from Geoff Bodine and the original Big Red Machine #1 from his stellar 1978 campaign, the NASCAR touring teams battled in the Tour’s 750th event back where it all began in 1985.

Barre, VT – After rains once again wreaked havoc on Thunder Road with the planned Thursday showcase moved to Friday evening, Vermont Construction Night brought a frenzy of stellar performances.
Speed is seldom the primary objective of pre-season testing, although any of the 31 participants in the IMSA test at Daytona International Speedway would take pride in topping the timing screens.
For most teams and manufacturers, the November test is mostly about integrating new personnel and learning how their cars react to changes in chassis setup and atmospheric conditions. There’s no substitute for time on track when it comes to learning. (more…)

Chemung, N.Y. (July 17, 2023) – Shawn Nye of Lancaster, N.Y., returned to his winning ways in the Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series this past Saturday night at the Chemung (N.Y.) Speedrome.
Thompson, CT — Tolland, CT’s Ronnie Williams made it two in a row with the Outlaw Open Modified Series by capturing the Twisted Tea Tripoint Showdown 75 at Connecticut’s Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on Wednesday, September 15. Williams followed a similar script to his Midsummer 75 victory in August by coming on strong late in the going to take home another $5,000 top prize at the final tune-up for the $20,000-to-win Thompson 300.
A cursory glance at Joey Logano’s first 22 races this year doesn’t inspire confidence, but the manner in which this season culminates falls directly into his wheelhouse. For that reason alone, he’s a legitimate title challenger. (more…)
