Track Talk – NBC Sports Network Reportedly Shutting Down by the End of the Year

According to reports in both the Wall Street Journal and Sports Business Journal, NBC Sports Network will shutter by the end of the year, representing a shift in the television rights agreement for NASCAR, IMSA and IndyCar.

NBC Sports executive producer Sam Flood has called his network ‘America’s Home for Motorsports. The network premiered in 1995 as the Outdoor Life Network. It was rebranded as Versus in 2006. (more…)

James Hinchcliffe to Serve as Analyst for INDYCAR, Indy Lights, IMSA and NASCAR Coverage on NBC Sports

STAMFORD, Conn. – Feb. 27, 2020 – Current INDYCAR driver for Andretti Autosport and fan-favorite James Hinchcliffe has joined NBC Sports as a motorsports analyst for 2020. He will serve as a driver analyst for a majority of NBC Sports’ 2020 INDYCAR race coverage, providing reports from pit road and will make his debut at the season-opener in St. Petersburg, Fla., the weekend of March 13-15.
