MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 8, 2025) – JR Motorsports today announced that Sammy Smith will be making his return to the organization and the No. 8 Chevrolet for the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season. Smith, who will be entering his third year behind the wheel of a JRM Chevrolet, will be accompanied by longtime partners Pilot, TMC Transportation, and Allstate Peterbilt Group for 2026.

Sammy Smith Wins Wild NASCAR Xfinity Return To Rockingham Speed After Jesse Love’s DQ

ROCKINGHAM, N.C.—Long after the checkered flag waved in the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ long-awaited return to Rockingham Speedway, Sammy Smith’s fortunes improved dramatically.

Smith was awarded the victory in the North Carolina Education Lottery 250 after the No. 2 Chevrolet of ostensible race winner Jesse Love was deemed to have violated Rule 14.14.2.I-5.h which covers trailing arm spacers and pinion angle shims.

Sammy Smith Clinches Spot in Round of 8 With Xfinity Series Victory at Talladega

TALLADEGA, Ala. – A last lap pass for the win is a recurring theme at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway and that’s exactly what landed JR Motorsports driver Sammy Smith in Victory Lane on Saturday. It was the only lap he led all day but it was good enough to win Saturday’s United Rentals 250 overtime thriller and earn Smith an automatic berth into the next round of the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs.

Rookie Sammy Smith Adds His Name To The NASCAR XFINITY Series Winners List

Sammy Smith wins East Series championship while teammate Ty Gibbs takes checkered at Bristol
