In July type conditions the May Meltdown program was presented Sunday afternoon at Riverhead Raceway feature the first of the Miller Lite Triple Crown Series events for the Street Stocks and Mini Stocks. Stephen Kopcik took down his first SK Modified® feature win of the 2022 season, while Kevin Gambacorta in the Late Model feature and Rich Hammann in the Limited Late Model feature events were both winners for the second consecutive week. WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Tim Fuller winning a big race is nothing new, but the way he did it in the “Slate Valley 100” at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Sunday, September 26, was a bit of a surprise. The former Super DIRTcar Series champion stormed past dirt Modified hotshot Matt Sheppard and ran away from everyone to pocket $10,000 in the early-autumn special. The SK Modified® feature saw Todd Owen declared the winner after post-race inspection determined that original feature winner Stephen Kopcik and third place finisher Jon Puleo did not meet rule 20E – 12.3 Coil Over Shocks and both cars were disqualified from the feature finish. (Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted First Responder Friday on September 10 with the TC 13 Shootout joining Stafford’s five weekly divisions in feature action. The SK Modified® division ran their regularly scheduled 40-lap feature as well as the 3rd Annual TC 13 Shootout, a 13-lap race contested between the top-13 finishers from the 40-lap feature that paid the winner an extra $1,313 from a purse of over $7,000.
