George Bessette, Jr. Captures 2023 SK Light Championship at Stafford

(Stafford Springs, CT)—In a season that was filled with peaks and valleys for George Bessette, Jr., the driver of the #39 Lasco Roofing and Sheet Metal SK Light was able to take home the 2023 SK Light championship.  The SK Light championship marks the second time Bessette has won a Stafford track championship with his first championship coming during the 2018 season in the Street Stock division.

Barre, VT ­— After several years of continued growth for the famed Flying Tiger division at Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl and White Mountain Motorsports Park, American-Canadian Tour Officials have announced a new Tri-State Series for the top support division. With 2023 coming to an end, it’s time for the New Hampshire Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities (SCCNH) to spread some holiday cheer for kids in need throughout New England. The 14th annual Grant Distribution Ceremony, set for Thursday, Dec. 7 at The Palace Theatre in Manchester, N.H., will provide $131,750 in grants to 40 area charities.

The 50th running of the Turkey Derby at Wall Stadium Speedway in Wall, New Jersey was plagued by a number of caution flags throughout the event, but in the end it was pole-sitter ‘Big Money’ Matt Hirschman scoring his eight victory in the prestigious event at the 0.333-mile speedway.
