NASCAR Cup Series: Kansas Speedway Drops the Green Flag on the Playoffs’ Round of 12

After an eventful NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs’ Round of 16 elimination race at Bristol Motor Speedway, the 16 postseason contenders have been reduced to 12 and now have to turn their attention to the 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway for the Hollywood Casino 400 Presented By ESPN BET on Sunday, September 29 at 3 p.m. ET on USA, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. Kansas is the first of three tracks in the Round of 12, alongside Talladega Superspeedway and the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval.

Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson dominated the race at Bristol last weekend, winning both stages and leading a race-high 462 laps in the event – the most laps led at Bristol since NASCAR Hall of Famer Cale Yarborough led 495 in 1977. As a result, Larson banked seven more Playoff points and is back atop the point standings following the reseeding for the Round of 12, +15 points up on Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell in second.

NASCAR Xfinity Series Following the Yellow Brick Road All the Way to Kansas Speedway

The NASCAR Xfinity Series wrapped up the regular season last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway and will now be kicking off the 2024 Playoffs at Kansas Speedway with the Kansas Lottery 300 on Saturday, September 28 at 4 p.m. ET on The CW, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio – the Round of 12 opener.

Kansas Speedway, located just outside of Kansas City, Kansas, is a 1.5-mile track with variable banking in the turns (17 to 20 degrees). It has hosted 24 NASCAR Xfinity Series races, producing 18 different race winners and 17 different pole winners.

Only two of the Kansas Xfinity races have been won from the pole or first starting position, most recently by Kyle Busch in 2016. Not only is Busch the last driver to win from the pole, but he also holds the record for most wins (four), top fives (eight), laps led (544), and is tied with Justin Allgaier for most top 10s at 10 each.

Pro Stock Final Four: Dylan Estrella, Bobby Pelland III, Vinnie Arrenegado, Mike Brightman

With 11 playoff points after the first two weeks, Dylan Estrella leads the Pro Stock Final Four. The Everett’s Auto Parts Racing driver of the No. 46 stormed to the front of the pack often throughout the season, visiting Victory Lane multiple times and always being a threat for the podium. Bobby Pelland III is another former Late Model champion looking to add a Pro Stock title to his resume. Pelland has multiple victories this season and always finds himself around the podium at the end of the night. After making the Final Four last year and coming up just short, Pelland looks to rebound and seal the deal this year. Vinnie Arrenegado is one driver who has put together a season filled with second-place finishes. To be exact, Arrenegado finished second SEVEN times. He will lock up the Rookie of the Year award in the Pro Stocks, but the former Late Model champion wants Pro Stock title gold.

And no one can count out Mike Brightman either. Another Final Four run for him will come down to the wire, with Brightman also looking to add to a previous Late Model Seekonk title. Brightman ended the regular season with his first victory of the season and seems ready to chase the crown. The Pro Stock championship event is 50 laps.

Layne Riggs Returns to the Kansas Speedway with Infinity Communications

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (September 24, 2024) – Layne Riggs returns to the Kansas Speedway this weekend with Infinity Communications in search of his third straight win.

In the last four races, Riggs has earned two 5th-place finishes and two wins, most recently at the Bristol Motor Speedway last Thursday. Connor Hall Again Reigns Supreme to Capture Back-to-Back NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series National Championships

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (September 24, 2024) – The path to the title may have been different this year versus last, but at the end the results were the same, as Langley Speedway-based Connor Hall captured his second consecutive NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series championship.

A year after Hall became the first Langley driver to win the championship in the top division of the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series in the 74-year history of the track, he became the first to repeat. The feeling was just as sweet the second time around.

Wright Motorsports Kisses the Bricks After IMSA Victory at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., (September 24, 2024) – Sunday evening at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Wright Motorsports celebrated a win that was a long time coming for the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R of Adam Adelson, Elliott Skeer, and Jan Heylen. The win in the inaugural Battle on the Bricks endurance race marked the first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship win for Adelson and Skeer. The successful result and consistent performance during the race, rocketed the team up from 13th to fourth in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup, the endurance championship within the full-season IMSA WeatherTech championship. Hudson, NH- Another beautiful day for racing graced the High Banks of Hudson Speedway for the 2^nd to last points event of the season. While many drivers hoped to add to their points lead on the day or maybe even mathematically lock up their championship a week early while fans were treated to an action-packed day of racing. Tyler Leary, Andrew Morin, Steve Miller Sr., Brian Caswell, Mikayla Duval, and Andrew Harmon took home the winner’s hardware in their respective divisions.
