Veteran crew chief Matt McCall has been named Director of Vehicle Performance and accomplished race engineer Dax Gerringer has been named Technical Director for the Mooresville organization’s three-car NASCAR Cup Series teams, effective immediately. (more…)
RWR Acquires Corey LaJoie From Spire, Spire Procures Justin Haley From RWR
BRISTOL, Tenn. (Sept. 20, 2024) – With eight races left on the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series calendar, two teams are making changes for the remainder of the season.
Rick Ware Racing (RWR) has acquired driver Corey LaJoie from Spire Motorsports, and Spire Motorsports has procured driver Justin Haley from RWR. Saturday’s Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway will be the last race for each driver with their current organizations. Beginning with next weekend’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, LaJoie will take over the No. 51 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for RWR, and Haley will drive the No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Spire Motorsports.
As Michael McDowell makes the jump from Front Row Motorsports to Spire Motorsports for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series campaign, he’ll be bringing a familiar face along for the ride. (more…)

In 16 NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS), Spire Motorsports has logged one top-15 and five top-25 finishes with seven different drivers. Corey LaJoie, driver of Spire Motorsports’ No. 7 USANA Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 earned the organization’s lone top 15 after finishing 15th on March 6, 2022 in the Pennzoil 400. The Mooresville, N.C., team fields the Nos. 7, 71 and 77 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1s in the NCS with LaJoie, and fellow drivers Zane Smith and Carson Hocevar, respectively. (more…)
Spire Motorsports at Atlanta Motor Speedway: In 14 NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) races at Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS), Spire Motorsports has logged two top-five and two top-10 finishes with seven different drivers. Corey LaJoie, driver of Spire Motorsports No. 7 CELSIUS Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 earned both the organization’s top fives after finishing fifth in March 2022 and fourth last March.
