Ross Chastain’s No 1. Trackhouse Chevrolet came to life in the second half of Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 and beat William Byron’s Chevrolet to the finish line in a hotly contested Round of 12 opener in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.
Layne Riggs stunned the entire Craftsman Truck Series garage when he took over the final 53 laps of the opening Round of 10 race at The Milwaukee Mile to claim his breakthrough win in NASCAR national series competition by 1.547 seconds.
Yet the driver of the No. 38 Front Row Motorsports Ford wasn’t content with just one triumph. Riggs set his sights on the very next event at Bristol, where he dominated the final stage, led 80 laps and again left title contenders to battle for second. (more…)
Bubba Wallace took the helm of the 45 car into the playoffs to help Toyota battle for the manufacturers trophy. A lot of folks were scratching their heads over that move and questioning the sanity of Toyota and 23XI Racing. But a couple of weeks later, all the questions were answered as Bubba drove the 45 to its second victory at Kansas.
NASCAR officials set the rules configuration for a majority of tracks on the 2022 Cup Series schedule Tuesday, announcing that the Next Gen car will use a 4-inch rear spoiler for downforce and will use engines with 670 target horsepower as a baseline. (more…)
