INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Mercedes-AMG clinched a third-straight GT America powered by AWS Manufacturer Championship to highlight a successful season-ending weekend of SRO America competition at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) that included GT4 and GT2 race wins and a three-day haul of six total podium finishes. The half dozen visits to IMS victory lane included a pair of podium showings by Mercedes-AMG Performance Teams GruppeM Racing and Lone Star Racing. Maro Engel, Jules Gounon and Mikael Grenier drove the No. 130 Mercedes-AMG Team GruppeM Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 to a second-place Pro-class finish while the No. 4 Mercedes-AMG Team Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Luca Stolz, Fabian Schiller and Alex Palou rallied to third-place Pro honors in Saturday’s Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC) Indianapolis 8 Hour. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., (October 8, 2024) – Sunday evening in Indianapolis at the SRO America end-of-the-year awards banquet, Flying Lizard Motorsports concluded their three-series championship efforts with the prestigious award of GT3 Crew of the Year, also with driver Damir Hot receiving the Rookie of the Year award.
“Running multiple cars in multiple classes made for an extremely busy 2024 season,” said Program Manager Darren Law. “Although we did not come away with a championship this year, we had multiple podiums and have great momentum as we go into the offseason. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., (September 30, 2024) – Two weeks after racing at the Brickyard with their Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America program, Flying Lizard Motorsport is back at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend to close out the year with their multiple SRO America championship efforts. Though not in the championship hunt, the team has four entries competing to finish the season with wins in GT World Challenge America, GT4 America, and GT America.
“2024 has been a great season for many reasons,” said Program Manager Darren Law. “Although we aren’t in a fight for the championship this year, we have had multiple podiums throughout the season in each of the different classes we are entered in and we see so much potential for 2025. BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 teams Regulator Racing and CRP Racing combined for victories in three of the four Fanatec GT World Challenge America and GT America races contested this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park. Jeff Burton and Philip Ellis co-drove the No. 91 Regulator Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 to their second Fanatec GT World Challenge America Pro-Am class race win Sunday to tighten the championship race between the top three contenders heading into next month’s season-ending race weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
