(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted the Casella Waste SK 80 on Friday, June 6th with defending Street Stock champion Travis Downey capturing his first feature victory of the 2025 season. Just as Downey was taking the checkered flag, the skies opened up and with rain and lightning in the area, the remainder of the program was postponed to next Friday night, June 13th with a Street Stock feature added to the 80-lap Casella Waste SK 80-lap feature and the remainder of tonight’s program.
Hot Start Has Jon Puleo Primed For Stafford’s Casella Waste SK 80
(Stafford Springs, CT)—One of the hottest drivers at Stafford Speedway in 2025 has been SK Modified® driver Jon Puleo. Puleo and his #7 Mr. Rooter Plumbing / Sign Pro team kicked off the year with a victory in the NAPA Spring Sizzler® and followed that up with a second place effort. Puleo was fighting for the victory when he spun with 4 laps to go in the most recent SK Modified® feature event last Friday night, May 30th. Puleo’s hot start to the year combined with his love for extra distance racing has him primed for the Casella Waste SK 80, set for this Friday, June 6th at the Connecticut half-mile facility.

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted AZ Roofing Kids Night on Friday, May 30th, the first of three kids nights scheduled for the 2025 season. Keith Rocco was a SK Modified® winner for a second consecutive race, while Wayne Coury, Jr. won the Late Model feature, Chris Matthews won the SK Light feature, RJ Surdell won the Limited Late Model feature, and Bert Ouellette was a winner for the second time in 2025 in the Street Stock feature. There were two kids big wheel races with Memphis Genereux and Evan DaRos the winners.
Third Consecutive NAPA Spring Sizzler Victory Sees Matt Clement Leading Stafford’s Limited Late Model Division

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted Weekly Racing on Friday, May 16th with SK Lights taking part in a special 30-lap extra distance feature. The night saw Keith Rocco win the 40-lap SK Modified® feature in a thrilling finish between himself, Jon Puleo, and Michael Christopher, Jr. that saw several lead changes and a 3-wide move in the final laps before Rocco came away with the checkered flag. Other winners on the night were Paul Varricchio, Jr. in the Late Model feature, Nickolas Hovey in the SK Light feature, Matt Clement in the Limited Late Model feature, and Aaron Plemons in the Street Stock feature. Varricchio, Hovey, and Clement were all repeat winners from NAPA Spring Sizzler® Weekend.
Spring Sizzler Win Puts Championship Hopes in Motion for Bert Ouellette
(Stafford Springs, CT)—Coming into the 2025 racing season at Stafford Motor Speedway, Street Stock driver Bert Ouellette hadn’t won a feature since July 29 during the 2022 season. During NAPA Spring Sizzler® Weekend on April 27, Ouellette used some slick moves to work his #84 American Sign / J&J Trucking Chevrolet into the lead just past the halfway point of the 20-lap race and he went on to capture the checkered flag, his first win in 2 years and 9 months since his last Stafford victory.
