After serving as the series’ title sponsor from its inception in 1995 to 2008, the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will make its homecoming at Daytona International Speedway on February 17, 2023.
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (February 10, 2021) – Joe Gibbs Racing announced today that it has reached an extended agreement with driver Martin Truex Jr. to continue piloting the team’s No. 19 Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Martin Truex Jr. owns three top-five finishes and five top-10s in 31 career NASCAR Cup Series starts at Daytona International Speedway. In the series’ most recent race on the 2.5-mile superspeedway, Truex led 14 laps and ended up fourth. Truex is also a former DAYTONA 500 pole winner after recording the fastest lap in qualifying back in 2009.
