KANSAS CITY, Kan. — In the last few feet of race track in the second overtime Sunday afternoon, Chase Elliott came from oblivion to steal the Hollywood Casino 400 Presented by ESPN BET and earn a berth in the Round of 8 of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.

As his No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet sped wide open through the final corner on Lap 273 at Kansas Speedway, Elliott’s car bounced off the side of Denny Hamlin’s Toyota on the way to the finish line.

N. Woodstock, NH — The Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division at White Mountain kicked off Saturday night’s six division card with Chloe Doyle and Bella Hamel leading the way side-by-side at the front. Several back of the pack cautions slowed the pace early but under green flag conditions Lucas Sidney and Owen Dupuis made their way through the field to pour the pressure on in the closing laps. Under the twin checkered flags Sidney took the win by a hair over Doyle with Makenzi Sicard sliding in for third to round out the opening podium.

Logano Steals Vegas Win; Clinches Championship 4 Berth

LAS VEGAS — Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano made his Team Penske’s fuel strategy call work to perfection Sunday afternoon to claim victory in the South Point 400 Playoff race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and earn the first of four NASCAR Cup Series Championship 4 berths.

Logano led only the final six laps on the Vegas 1.5-miler but was able to hold off the afternoon’s most dominant car, Christopher Bell’s No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota by a slight .662-second in the final few laps.

Thompson, CT — A partly cloudy day was had at Thompson Speedway’s Saturday opener to the 50th Icebreaker weekend with plenty of rain to darken the spirits on an exciting opening day schedule of events. The crew at Thompson Speedway kept the track dry enough to get in full feature events for both the Thompson Street Stocks and the PASS Super Late Models but the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series was a casualty to the rain and will be postponed to the Friday of World Series weekend on October 11. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series:  Team DGR’s Todd Gilliland Wins Knoxville, Steals Opportunity To Win A Spot In The Playoffs

Team DGR called upon the expertise of NASCAR Cup Series driver Todd Gilliland to pilot their No. 17 Ford at Knoxville Raceway last weekend and the decision paid off big-time with a trip to Victory Lane, the first for the organization this season. Ultimately the win was great for Gilliland, but for the drivers vying for the final five spots in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Playoffs, it stole a chance for one of the championship contenders to lock themselves into the postseason with a win.
