Joey Logano had a Top 5 car most of the race and a late race call for new tires had you wondering if he was going to be able to drive through the field while others around him did not pit. That call by crew chief Wolf was the game winning hand as Logano drove back through the field taking the lead from Ross Chastain with 3 laps remaining.
Christopher Bell was in a must win situation entering the Charlotte Roval and his team delivered with a fresh tire call that helped push him past leader Kevin Harvick.
That win plus an unfortunate smack of the wall eliminated reigning champ Kyle Larson.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series will be heading to Alabama next for what is sure to produce some of the craziest racing this season. The second race of the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs Round of 12 will take place on Saturday, Oct. 1 with the Sparks 300 at 4 p.m. ET on the USA Network, the NBC Sports App, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR radio.
The 2022 playoffs continue without a playoff driver winning a race. This may be a season where the eventual champion may only win a single race in the final 10 races.
Tyler Reddick was the fourth consecutive non-playoff driver to win a race. Reddick was eliminated from the Round of 16 but proved that his remaining time with RCR will not go quietly.

Hate to say I told you so, but I told you so.
Last week I said that Erik Jones was my sleeper driver to turn the tables on the playoffs and he did it in rare form.
The week started with the announcement that Kurt Busch was not going to make the start of the Cup playoffs and that his waiver request had been withdrawn, effectively giving up any hope of a return for the former champion. That announcement left the window open for Martin Truex, Jr. and Ryan Blaney to make the playoffs on points if neither won at Daytona. That is, unless no one NEW won at Daytona. (more…)
Barre, VT — The final Thursday night of the 2022 Thunder Road season was certainly one to remember as the championship point battles begin to come down just inches of fiberglass and seconds on the clock. Jet Service Envelope/Accura Printing Night brought the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors their second first-time winner in two weeks, a rookie that led a flag-to-flag rk Miles Street Stock sprint and two stories of determination and time spent in the shop to get their respective mounts back on top at Thunder Road.
