(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway returned to weekly racing action with the Late Model division taking center stage with their extra distance Paradiso Insurance Late Model 50 feature event on Friday night, September 5th. Chris Meyer was the big winner of the night by winning the Paradiso Insurance Late Model 50. Meyer had the car of Chris Buffone right behind him for roughly the final 35 laps and Buffone actually took the lead from Meyer coming to the white flag, but Meyer was able to retake the lead on the final lap and win the race. Other winners on the night were Mikey Flynn in the SK Modified® feature, Nickolas Hovey in the SK Light feature, Travis Hydar in the Limited Late Model feature, and Brent Gleason in the Street Stock feature.

Barre, VT – Perfect weather greeted the race fans and the over 120 teams on hand Sunday afternoon for the 47th EastRise Credit Union Labor Day Classic at Thunder Road. An incredible 37 of those teams were Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour teams, ready to dig deep all day long for a shot at just thirty starting positions.
Thunder Road stars Christopher Pelkey and Jason Corliss, along with current ACT point leader Raphael Lessard and former champion Jimmy Hebert all earned one of four heat race victories to kick off Sunday’s afternoon showcase. Returning for two more qualifying rounds, former winner D.J. Shaw and defending Milk Bowl victor Marcel Gravel split the two consolation events while Stephen Donahue ran away with the B-Feature win.

Coming into the Newsday Salutes First Responders NASCAR Modified feature Saturday at Riverhead Raceway, Owen Grennan of Glen Cove formulated a game plan upon finding out he’d start outside of the front row. Grennan, a schoolteacher by day executed his plan to perfection winning the 50-lap main event, his second of 2025 and third of his career. Prior to racing Connie Partridge & Tom Gatz in conjunction with Newsday presented a moving salute to all 1st responders during opening ceremonies, complete with a flyover by the Suffolk County Police Department.

Barre, VT – Twenty one street legal cars, and a pair of golf cars, took to the highbanks for the annual Run-What-U-Brung festivities on Thursday at Thunder Road. Over fifteen rounds of head-to-head matches finally whittled the field down to two; Street Stock standout Tyler Wheatley and third generation stalwart Howard Stockwell. The tow truck driver went toe-to-toe with the windshield extraordinaire in a finale for the ages with Wheatley taking the overall and Stockwell earning the top four-cylinder honors.
