Waterford, CT — Although rains pushed the Haunted Hundred at New London-Waterford Speedbowl back to Sunday, October 22, the poor weather did nothing to hinder the competition. Forty-nine American-Canadian Tour teams flooded the paddock at the coastal Connecticut oval with just thirty-one positions up for grabs in the final event of the 2023 season with the iconic ACT Tour championship, Rookie of the Year honors and Brookside Equipment Southern New England Triple Crown on the line. Thompson, CT — While sunshine brought fans and teams back to Thompson Speedway in droves to wrap up the 2023 season at the 5/8-mile oval, both groups were also welcomed with good news. It was announced at the drivers meeting on Sunday that the partnership between the American-Canadian Tour and Pro All Stars Series organizations will continue to lease the Thompson Speedway oval for the 2024 season. Thompson, CT — Although rains dampened much of Friday’s planned mid-day practice sessions, the 61 Sunoco World Series was able to start off with a bang as the Milton CAT Modified Racing Series and Mighty Mini Stock Tour were both able to crown their touring champions and the Thompson Late Models saw a return champion in victory lane. Throw in some vintage racing, a hard-nosed open Street Stock showdown and the first of three Sunoco Modified events, the 61st Sunoco World Series began in great style! (more…)
