(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted another round of Stafford Weekly Racing on Friday, August 6th with the Whelen Modified Tour also on hand for the GAF Roofing 150.  Taking down feature wins were Todd Owen for the second consecutive week in the SK Modified® feature, Kevin Gambacorta in the Late Model feature, Derek Debbis in the SK Light feature, Jeremy Lavoie in the Limited Late Model feature, and Nickolas Hovey in the Street Stock feature. A familiar face graced Victory Lane once again at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Barre, VT — Craftsbury Common’s Stephen Martin topped one of the closest championship battles in recent Thunder Road history by winning the Myers Container Service Triple Crown Series finale at Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac Night on Thursday, August 5. Martin wrestled the lead away from his dad Michael in the closing stages of the 75-lap Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger feature to win both the race and the Triple Crown title in one fell swoop.

The 200-lap showdown instantly becomes one of the richest point-counting events of the year on the ACT Late Model Tour schedule. MILFORD, Conn. — Doug Coby is set to return to Stafford Motor Speedway this Friday, August 6, as the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour invades the half-mile for the eighth race of the season. Coby, a former multiple-time track champion, who is 18th on the all-time track wins list, has 12 of those wins in Whelen Modified Tour competition, and would love to add a lucky 13 in his return to his home track.

Patrick Emerling Looking to Go Two For Two in GAF Roofing 150 at Stafford

(Stafford Springs, CT)—With the return of the Whelen Modified Tour to Stafford this Friday, August 6 for the GAF Roofing 150, perhaps no driver is more looking forward to the race than Patrick Emerling.  The Buffalo, NY native won the NAPA Spring Sizzler back on April 30 and he won the most recent WMT race in Lancaster, NY this past weekend.  Emerling is looking forward to returning to Stafford with his #07 Captain Pip’s Marina Chevrolet and he thinks he can make it not only two in a row at Stafford, but two in a row on the Tour as well.
